Carolina Rain Porch
The Carolina Rain Porch is a unique architectural feature that is rarely seen in Georgia. It is designed to keep its occupants out of the weather and features a recessed deck with an overhanging roof, supported by columns that reach the ground. Rain porches are primarily found in Williamsburg County, South Carolina. This porch features its original materials, which are almost 200 years old, and is built using mortise and tenon joints. It also includes a pie shelf and a hinged double gate.
